CAP is here for you, to protect you and to make your environment safe to work, walk and drive in but we need your help.
When calling always provide:
- Your name
- Your contact number
- Give the location and nearest corner of the suspicious activity / crime
- If relevant, the direction in which the persons / vehicles is heading
What information to call in
Pedestrian based information
- Accurate description of all individuals
- Any objects that they may be carrying
- Any identifying characteristics (scars, jewellery)
Vehicular based information
- Vehicle type
- Vehicle colour
- Vehicle registration
- Number of occupants in the vehicle
Examples of what to look out for and report to the CAP ICCC (Incident Command and Control Centre)
- Any two males or more on foot or in a vehicle
- Any individual in possession of electronic equipment, domestic or business related walking on foot or in a vehicle.
- Any males that are loitering or seem not to belong in the area
- Any male wearing clothing that may serve as concealment
- Any males in a vehicle that seem to be driving around aimlessly
- Any stationary males in a vehicle (just stationery at any location)
- Any two males and one female in a vehicle driving in a location aimlessly
- Any males just sitting in random locations
- Any vehicles that seem to infringe on the traffic by laws of South Africa
Panics buttons
Push your panic button if:
- You are not sure about a situation or if individuals are asking you a lot of questions.
- You see unknown individuals on your property
- Strangers are ringing your door bell or knocking on your door.
- If you feel uncomfortable about any situation.
